Kaumadi Jayaweera, Editorial Assistant at the MMCA Sri Lanka talks about her experience of working at the country’s first public museum of modern and contemporary art. She will share her insights about what happens at the MMCA Sri Lanka, the people at the museum, and how young professionals can think about careers in the museum sector in Sri Lanka.
Kaumadi Jayaweera is a graduate from the Department of English at University of Colombo, Sri Lanka, and began working with the Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art Sri Lanka in 2022. She is currently Editorial Assistant and overseas the Museum’s trilingual work, working across all areas of our activities. Kaumadi was also Assistant Editor for the Museum’s first research publication ‘Second Volume’ (2023), and led the editorial work for the Sinhala and Tamil translations of the e-books, which were published in 2024. Kaumadi is also a freelance editor and translator.
